Music Videos That Use Out Of Focus Shots

Noche Nada by Givers includes many different shots, most of which blur out of focus and then cuts to a refined shot that is in focus. This effect is good because it keeps the audience entertained and adds a home-made video aspect to it and it's not clear cut and professional, it blurs lines and colour to create a unique video.

Summertime Sadness contains blurry shots due to the vintage effect, which makes the footage out of focus.

This effect has been achieved with experimenting with water, creating a distorted and blurred effect, something our out of focus shots hope to achieve.



Daughter uses some out of focus shots in their video which they use to move from one band member to another as a transition but without cutting/editing. 

Music Videos With Natural Scenery In Them

Lana Del Reys "Video Games" music video uses lots of natural and outdoor shots that are similar to what we will be using in our music video.

'HAIM' use natural scenery all the way through the video like we will be doing with our video to create a relaxed, calm and natural effect on the audience.The colours through the video closely relate the the colours we will be using. At the end of the video they use a car to leave in which also gives the audience a sense of happiness and makes them feel even more relaxed because then you realise they were just having fun. We're using a car in our music video but our artist Rosa-Leigh is in the car relaxing looking at the natural scenery out the window giving the same effect to the audience as 'HAIM".

 

Music Videos With Similar Clothing & Makeup Styles

In this music video 'Daughter' is wearing a jumper which our artist Rosa-Leigh will be wearing something similar to, 'Daughter' is also wearing summery clothes which is another style we are using in our music video. 

In this music video, 'HAIM' use some of the hair styles we would like to use on our artist such as long hair, messy hair, curly hair and some hair tucked behind their ear. They are also wearing summery clothes and dresses. 

The style of Lana Del Rey's clothes in this music video which are very summery clothes are very similar to the clothes Rosa-Leigh will be wearing in our music video. Also 'Lana Del Rey' is wearing different clothes in different shot which we will also be doing in our video, me and Holly decided that we would keep the same necklace on Rosa-Leigh throughout the video even when the clothes change in the different shots, just like this video does.  

Artist Comparisons

The quiet and subtle look of both Rosa-Leigh and Birdy stems from the serene expressions and the waterfall of hair. The pale clothes and minimal make-up make the two similar. Their music differs slightly as Rosa-Leigh's voice is more subdued, yet Birdy's is more pronounced. 

Ellie Goulding isn't afraid of giving a good performance, much like Rosa-Leigh. They both play the guitar and sing at the same time, however have been known to perform without their instrument to give the crowd a good time. Ellie's soft voice can sound similar to Rosa-Leigh's however, Rosa-Leigh is less mainstream, taking her music on a more alternative route.

Her look is similar to that of Lana Del Rey's, donning the more elegant and naturally beautiful style. Their music has been known to take a more sullen and repressed sound, slower songs are usually the most heartfelt and emotional. Their upbeat songs still contain an element of the slow sadness found in their other tracks.
